Case study

Workstation readiness tooling for a remote customer-support workforce

Desktop diagnostics, remote endpoint checks, and web applications that give a remote support organization a consistent way to confirm agent workstations are ready for work.

  • Client: A customer-experience outsourcing company with a distributed, work-from-home agent workforce (client name withheld)
  • NRCO Solutions’ role: architecture, development, and deployment

The challenge

Remote support agents depend on a working headset, a stable network connection, and an up-to-date Windows workstation. The client needed a consistent, repeatable way to verify those conditions across a distributed workforce, both when agents onboard and as their equipment changes.

Systems involved

  • Windows workstations used by remote agents
  • The client’s existing remote monitoring and management (RMM) platform
  • Java web applications and a relational database, served through a reverse proxy with automatically renewed TLS

What we delivered

NRCO Solutions designed the solution architecture, built the desktop diagnostic, endpoint scripts, and web applications, and handled their deployment.

  • Desktop diagnostic

A Windows application agents run to check audio devices, network quality, and Windows update status.

  • Remote endpoint checks

Read-only, repeatable diagnostic scripts the client pushes to managed workstations through its RMM platform, covering headsets, network jitter, Wi-Fi, and updates.

  • Web applications

Java/Spring Boot applications for workstation check-in and agent onboarding, backed by a relational database.

  • Deployment

Server deployment behind a reverse proxy with automated TLS certificate renewal and documented operating procedures.

Outcome

The desktop diagnostic, remote endpoint checks, and web applications are in production use, giving the client one consistent process for confirming agent workstation readiness.
